An accident took place on LB 54 on Wednesday morning: Around 6:30 am, a 21-year-old woman from Styria was driving her car in the direction of Pischelsdorf when, for unknown reasons, a head-on collision occurred with a truck. A 32-year-old Hungarian man was behind the wheel and suffered minor injuries in the collision.
Longer waiting times in traffic
However, the woman suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to LKH Graz as quickly as possible. The 32-year-old was taken to hospital in Hartberg. When rush hour started, waiting times became longer. Emergency services from the Pischelsdorf and Hirnsdorf volunteer fire brigade carried out the vehicle rescue.
In a Facebook post, the Pischelsdorf fire brigade praised the first responders: “An energy supplier employee and a firefighter in plain clothes secured the accident scene in an exemplary manner, were able to help the injured person out of the vehicle, and provided perfect first aid until the emergency services arrived.”
