In Vorarlberg on Wednesday, a man got behind the wheel, drunk and without a license, and was stopped by a tree.
A 23-year-old man is responsible for the fact that there is now one less tree on the Bregenzer Rheinstrasse (Vorarlberg): The man got into his car on Wednesday around 23:15 and drove towards Fußach. Presumably due to his alcohol level (over 0.8 per mille), he lost control of his car and crashed into a tree on the side of the road.
The driver was injured in the accident and had to be taken by ambulance to the Bregenz State Hospital. However, all help came too late for the affected tree. It was so badly damaged that it had to be cut down.
Traveling without a certificate
Investigation revealed that the 23-year-old no longer had a driver’s license, which had already been taken away from him in June for driving under the influence.
