The escape from the police has ended in an extremely difficult situation for a man in the American state of Massachusetts. The suspect, wanted for illegal drug possession, got stuck in a chimney.
Police in the city of Fall River attempted to arrest two men charged with illegal drug possession. The suspects ran away and initially fled to the roof of a house. While one of the two wanted people was initially able to escape with a daring jump into a car, his accomplice had a different idea.
Police officer: “You’re an idiot”
He apparently wanted to use the ‘Sinterklaas trick’ to slide back into the building via the chimney and thus mislead the police. But this turned out to be too narrow and the crook got stuck. A passerby alerted police to the accident, who immediately investigated.
In fact, they saw the desperate man in the light of their flashlights, as evidenced by body camera video (see above). “You’re an idiot,” one of the officers said about the wanted man’s escape route.
The fire brigade had to save the criminal
In order to arrest the criminal, the fire brigade also had to come out and partially dismantle the chimney. After a brief medical check-up in hospital, the man ended up behind bars. The other wanted man was also arrested a short time later – albeit much less spectacularly, as reported in the American media.
