In the American state of California, more than 170,000 customers of electricity suppliers were affected. A tornado warning was issued as a severe thunderstorm moved through Daly City. “Seek shelter now in a basement or sturdy building,” the National Weather Service said.
Heavy rain and storms with speeds of up to 60 miles (about 97 km/h) per hour were reported. The tornado warning has now been withdrawn.
However, the National Weather Service continues to warn of caution. There is a risk of flooding and dangerous gambling conditions.
