Tornado Warning: California Winter Storm Caused Power Outages

A tornado warning was temporarily issued in parts of the city of San Francisco. There were heavy rains and storms with speeds of up to 60 miles (about 97 km) per hour, US media reported. As many as 13,000 households were temporarily without power.

In the American state of California, more than 170,000 customers of electricity suppliers were affected. A tornado warning was issued as a severe thunderstorm moved through Daly City. “Seek shelter now in a basement or sturdy building,” the National Weather Service said.

Heavy rain and storms with speeds of up to 60 miles (about 97 km/h) per hour were reported. The tornado warning has now been withdrawn.

However, the National Weather Service continues to warn of caution. There is a risk of flooding and dangerous gambling conditions.
