A 54-year-old’s incredible arsenal of weapons was discovered after he threatened to kill his carer. The person in need of help hid, among other things, 26 long guns and two tank cartridges in Bad Goisern (Upper Austria). The investigation is ongoing.
What the police found in the home of a 54-year-old in Bad Goisern almost defies imagination. The person in need of care had collected a huge arsenal of weapons, including: 26 long guns, a machine gun, five antique pistols, twelve sticks of gelatin donarit (a very dangerous explosive), several magazines, a grenade, two tank cartridges and thousands of ammunition rounds.
It is currently completely unclear what the man intended to do with the combat equipment and whether he legally possessed it. The investigation is ongoing.
Nurse discovered Arsenal
The arsenal was exposed because his nurse (38) went to the police. She told officers that her client had threatened to kill her. He also keeps firearms unlocked in his home.
Detectives then visited the 54-year-old – and discovered the large number of firearms during a voluntary inspection.
Tank cartridges are detonated in a controlled manner
The police confiscated all weapons from the person in need of care. On behalf of the Public Prosecution Service of Wels, the tank cartridges are detonated in a controlled manner. The 54-year-old himself has been reported to the public prosecutor’s office and the Gmunden district administration and is currently at large. During his interrogation, he admitted to making dangerous threats against his nurse.
