A gruesome discovery shocked the high school for sports and integration in Vöcklabruck (Upper Austria) a week and a half ago: a partially mummified, partially skeletonized child’s corpse was found in the basement – the “Krone” reported. Now an expert report must bring clarity to the matter.
A week and a half ago, the partially mummified body of a baby was found in a storage room in the basement of the Vöcklabruck sports and integration secondary school. It is possible that the child mummy was used as a teaching material in the past. According to a former director of the school, the body was found in the attic in the 1980s. He was then apparently sent to the basement, where he has just reappeared.
A report is being prepared
A forensic medical report will now clarify exactly how old the skeleton is and what caused the child’s death. The Public Prosecution Service of Wels ordered this immediately after the find. “It won’t be ready before the end of January,” prosecutor Barbara Rumplmayr told the “Krone”.
The unusual find caused a lot of excitement in Vöcklabruck. “There is no reason to panic,” reassured Mayor Peter Schobesberger after the discovery. “According to the current state of affairs, there is no question of a violent crime.”
