Turbulent scenes took place in Tristach in East Tyrol on Monday evening. A 17-year-old driver is said to have knocked over several snow poles while drunk. When the police intervened, the local man defended himself with all his might, and a second drunk man also attacked the officers. Ultimately, the 17-year-old ended up in the hospital.
Several fallen snow poles on the national highway in Tristach called the police to the scene on Monday around 12:45 p.m. They discovered tire tracks and moments later a badly damaged unregistered car in the village street. According to officers, a 17-year-old local man who was clearly very drunk was driving the car.
50-year-old attacked police officers
Because the boy initially stubbornly refused to reveal his identity and take an alcohol test, the police decided to arrest him. But the 17-year-old clearly had something against it and reacted with a lot of resistance. Now a 50-year-old local man – also drunk – arrived on the scene, attacked the officers in an extremely aggressive manner and filmed the scene, according to the police report.
Ultimately, the attempt to arrest the 17-year-old ended with the boy suffering minor injuries. He was taken by ambulance to the Lienz district hospital. The police officers were unharmed.
