Labor’s intention is to speed up parliamentary processing of a change to the Workers’ Statute for which it must gain sufficient support.
The Ministry of Labor signed the agreement with the CC unions. OO. and UGT to reduce the working day to 37.5 hours by 2025, as reported by all parties.
The pact, from which the CEOE has distanced itself, is beginning to give shape to an obligation that was included in the government agreement, but which has given rise to differences in the implementation periods between the partners PSOE and Sumar in the past week.
The signing of the agreement will be attended by the Second Vice President of the Government and Minister of Labor and Social Economy, Yolanda Díaz, and the Secretaries General of CC. OO., Unai Sordo, and UGT, Pepe Álvarez.
Following the signing, Labor’s intention is to accelerate parliamentary processing of a change to the Workers’ Statute, which requires sufficient support.
