More than 5,000 rounds of ammunition, 70 long guns, fireworks and Nazi memorabilia: what police found on a family farm in the Liezen district of Styria was shocking. The owner (50) refuses to comment. Her 17-year-old son said he inherited his father’s belongings.
By order of the Public Prosecution Service Leoben, the agricultural property was searched on Saturday after a report was received. Special police forces were also called in during the search;
About 5000 rounds of ammunition
In total, more than 70 weapons, approximately 5,000 rounds of ammunition, pyrotechnic items and accessories, as well as illegal National Socialist items were discovered and seized. The officers also found several traffic signs in the house that were probably stolen.
Inheritance from father
When the suspected mother-son duo was questioned, the 50-year-old declined to make a statement. The 17-year-old son confessed and said he had inherited the banned items from his father.
Both are at large and accused of numerous crimes. In addition, a temporary weapons ban was imposed.
