A deadly fire shocked the residents of Krottenbachstrasse in Vienna-Döbling on Christmas Eve. A woman lost her life in a serious room fire.
Attentive neighbors saw smoke coming from a window in the middle of the night and immediately alerted the emergency services. When the fire brigade arrived, the windows were already broken and thick smoke was coming out of the windows.
All help came too late
The room fire was eventually completely extinguished by the fire brigade using two extinguishing lines. During the rapid extinguishing operation, the emergency services then freed a woman from the burning apartment. However, the emergency doctor could only determine death.
Cause of fire unclear
Eight other residents received medical care from the building on site. The cause of the fire is currently completely unclear.
