Ukraine points out that the plane that crashed in Kazakhstan was “damaged by the Russians”

The cause of the accident is under investigation. Some reports suggest that the tragedy occurred as a result of a flock of birds hitting the plane, while other media outlets claim that an oxygen cylinder exploded on board.

The Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has indicated that the The Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed was in the Kazakh city of Aktau this Wednesday hit by Russian air defense systems. At the accident 38 people have died and thirty others were injured.

The plane flew between the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, and Grozny, the capital of the Russian region of Chechnya. Two hours into the flight the plane arrived early make an emergency landing but he was refused due to fog in Grozny, so he was transferred first to Makhachkala, in Russian Dagestan, and then to Aktau.

This event occurred at a time when Russian anti-aircraft defenses were said to have been deployed in response to an alleged Ukrainian attack on Grozny. The latest version from the Ukrainian authorities could partially confirm these suspicions.
