After an avalanche in the Tyrolean Zillertal, a search has been going on for possible buried victims since Thursday afternoon. Several helicopters – including the police helicopter – and mountain rescue teams have been deployed.
According to the first information, the avalanche occurred shortly before noon on the Roßkopf (2,576 meters) in the Tux Alps, as the Tyrolean control center explained in response to a question from “Krone”.
Two winter sports enthusiasts were probably buried under the masses of snow. However, this is not guaranteed. In any case, a major search was launched. “No signals from the avalanche transceivers were received,” the control center said.
The two emergency medical helicopters “Martin 7” and “Alpin 5” and the police helicopter Libelle have been deployed. The same applies to the mountain rescue teams from Mayrhofen and Tux.
