Big shock for employees at Kahului Airport on Maui (Hawaii): On Christmas Eve, a person was found dead in the undercarriage of a United Airlines plane.
In a statement, United Airlines confirmed that a body was found in Kahului on Tuesday after the arrival of Flight 202, a Boeing 787-10, from Chicago.
The body was discovered in the wheel well of one of the plane’s main landing gear, the airline said.
“The wheel arch was only accessible from the outside. At this time it is not clear how or when the person properly got into the driver’s seat,” United Airlines said in a statement, according to Hawaiinewsnow.
Activities at the airport were not restricted and local police began an investigation.
