An obviously greedy woman brutally murdered several lovers in Japan. She has now died in an Osaka prison at the age of 78.
The Japanese woman had numerous relationships with men; most of her partners were elderly or ill. She met some of her life partners through a dating portal where she was specifically looking for rich men who didn’t have children. Before she poisoned the men with cyanide, she had their life insurance policies signed over to her. In this way, she would have earned the equivalent of 8.6 million euros in ten years.
Chisako Kakehi’s death was confirmed at a hospital on Thursday after she was found lying in her cell, a Justice Ministry official said on Friday. The cause of death has not yet been determined, the report said. Japanese media reported an unspecified illness.
Sentenced to death
About a decade ago, Kakehi was sentenced to death for the murder of three men, including her husband, and the attempted murder of another man. The crime series caused a stir in Japan: Kakehi became known as the “Black Widow” and “Poison Lady”.
