“Child drowned in Mur” – that was the order on which rescue, police and rescue helicopters were called in on Wednesday afternoon in Pernegg in Styria. However, it turned out to be just a rubber doll.
It was a devastating emergency call that reached emergency services on Wednesday: A child, about two to four years old, was said to float lifeless in the Mur near Pernegg. A fisherman made the discovery and called 911.
The rescue chain was immediately set in motion: the Red Cross and the police went to the scene of the accident. An ambulance by helicopter and the fire brigade were also requested. The Mur had to be searched first and there was little hope of saving the child alive.

Fortunately, everything became clear around 4 pm: what was floating in the Mur was not a child, but a doll. The emergency services were able to withdraw.
