The Bizkaia Provincial Council’s accounts for the next financial year have gone ahead with the only negative vote of five representatives, the representatives of Elkarrekin Podemos and the PP, following the budget agreement reached by PNV and PSE-EE with EH Bildu.

During the plenary debate on partial amendments and final approval of the accounts, PNV and PSE-EE emphasized that “only five” of the 51 representatives of the General Assemblies voted against, following the agreement of the two partners. of the government with the main opposition party. For his part, the PSE-EE spokesperson said: Goyo Zurrohas trusted that “today’s support will not be punctual because of temporary pragmatism, but because, out of responsibility and from a long-term perspective, they want to lay a solid foundation for progress and a real commitment to Bizkaia.”

Similarly, EH Bildu spokesperson said: Iker Casanovahas defended the “good” budget agreement, in which “all parties win” and also the citizens of Bizkaia, with the “strong” measures contained in the agreement, although he has emphasized that his party does not consider the bills “good”. ” “. Likewise, he emphasized that “it would not be coherent to continually call for agreements, even small ones, and turn our backs on those agreements.”

On the other hand, from the PP, its spokesperson in the Chamber of Biscay, Diego Pagadigorriahas insisted that the budgets are “continuous and revenue generating” and do not provide solutions for “small businesses, the self-employed and citizens”.

The spokesperson of Elkarrekin Podemos, Eneritz de Madariagahas criticized EH Bildu for a pact with the regional government that it “does not understand or share” and through which the sovereigntist coalition “condones” the policies it “criticizes”.
