On Pfluegerstrasse in Berlin-Neukölln, young people damaged a local bar with fireworks. In addition, a rainbow flag had a burn hole and a flag hanging over the sidewalk was also damaged. Before police arrived, the suspects left the scene. The State Security Bureau of the State Criminal Investigation Department is investigating.

The police confiscated 192 fireworks
According to a spokesperson for the Berlin police, a total of 192 fireworks were seized on Saturday alone to avert danger, “so that they no longer do harm with them.” One report was made of a violation of the Weapons Act and four administrative violations were registered for violation of the Explosives Regulation. According to the police, it was mainly young people who attracted attention.

The workforce increased
The Berlin police had announced that they would intensify their operations before New Year’s Eve due to the earlier sale of fireworks. Instead of 180 radio cars, 239 are in use and there are also more staff in the guard posts.

Fireworks in Germany are usually only sold on the last three days of the year, i.e. from December 29. Since it falls on a Sunday this time, the sale started on Saturday.
