A drama of evictions came to a bloodless end in Korneuburg, Lower Austria. The 61-year-old tenant had previously holed up in an apartment building and even fired a shot. The Cobra task force was able to storm the building and arrest the man. The landlord is shocked by what is happening…
Tuesday morning there was a major alarm in the Hovengasse: around 9:00 am, shots were fired during an attempt to evacuate Manfred S.’s apartment. According to the police, a tenant (61) has holed up in the house during the action. The Cobra task force then negotiated for hours, using a drone and even snipers.
Apartment stormed, man arrested
For landlord S., a retired make-up artist from the State Opera and hairdresser, the case is scandalous: “The man has never paid interest once this year. There have always been difficulties in the past and he has already stayed away from a lawsuit in this regard. I hope the situation is resolved quickly and no one gets hurt.”
S.’s hopes came true: Shortly after 3 p.m., the apartment was stormed. The man was arrested and taken to a detention center. The consequences cannot yet be estimated. S. explains: “I can’t imagine what it looks like in the apartment.”
