The integration barometer of the Austrian Integration Fund is published for the 13th time. This shows how people with and without a migration background can live together. It was also asked about the concerns of the Austrians and their attitude towards Ukrainian refugees – with rather surprising results. “In light of the war, one thing is clear. Austria’s neutrality is cemented. 69 percent are sure it is better for Austria’s security,” said study leader Peter Hajek.
Majority for help Ukrainian refugees
In addition, 39 percent are in favor of taking in refugees from Ukraine. Surprisingly, despite the high number of asylum seekers, people are currently not very concerned about immigration or integration. The reason for this is the positive mood towards the “culturally close” Ukrainian refugees.
The priorities change
