More than 33,000 vehicles sold in Hegoalde in 2024, an increase of almost 6% in Euskadi and 2% in Navarra

In the CAV, 25,772 vehicles were sold in 2024, compared to 24,409 in 2023. Meanwhile, in the Foral community, 7,321 vehicles were sold, compared to 7,173 the year before. In the Spanish state as a whole, registrations rose by 7.1% last year and 1,016,885 were sold.

Registration of passenger cars in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) increased by 5.8% in 2024 with 25,772 vehicles sold, compared to 24,409 in 2023, and an increase of more than 30% in the number of registrations of electric, hybrid or hydrogen vehicles and a decrease of almost 40% in the number of vehicles with diesel engines and about 15% of them are powered by petrol engines.

While, in Navarre In 2024, 7,321 vehicles were sold, compared to 7,173 in 2023, representing a 2.06% increase in registrations in the Foral community. Diesel sales also fell 22% and petrol sales also fell 15%. On the contrary: registrations of electric, hybrid or hydrogen vehicles increased by 21%.

The upward trend in BAC passenger car sales began in 2023, when it rose 11.2%, after four consecutive years of declines.

The bad numbers started in 2019, when CAV dealers sold 4.6% less. Then came the collapse of 2020, a year strongly affected by the outbreak of the pandemic (-3.4%). In 2021 the decrease was 18.3% and in 2022 it was 11.2%.

For the whole of 2024, passenger car sales fell by 15.7%. petrol in Euskadi and a total of 8,101 were sold. In Navarre 2,390 were acquired.

For passenger cars, the collapse was even greater diesel a drop in turnover of almost 40%, specifically 39.25%. In the CAV, only 1,597 units of this type of vehicle were sold, compared to 2,629 in 2023. In the Foral community, only 604 were purchased.

On the other hand, the purchase of vehicles electric, hybrid or hydrogen In 2024 they increased by 32% and 16,074 registrations were registered, while in 2023 there were 12,169. In Navarra there were 4,327 purchases of this type of vehicle.

As for the month of DecemberIn the CAV, 22.85% more passenger cars were sold compared to the same period last year with 2,893 vehicles purchased. In Navarre, 14.21% more passenger cars were purchased in the same month compared to the same period of the previous year, when 605 cars were purchased.

Throughout the Spanish state Registrations increased by 7.1% last year and 1,016,885 were sold, exceeding one million sales for the first time since 2019.
