Another serious case of domestic violence has occurred in Vienna. A 34-year-old woman was beaten and abused by her partner in her apartment for hours. It was only when alert neighbors alerted police that the woman’s ordeal stopped.
The alerted officers drove to the scene of the accident in Siebenbrunnengasse around 10:45 p.m. At first it was a loud argument. Neighbors heard the couple’s violent argument coming from the apartment for hours.
The suspect was covered in blood
Police were still knocking on the door when the 54-year-old, covered in blood, opened the door and invited officers into the apartment. He explained that his wife was in the bedroom and that everything was fine.

The victim suffered visible injuries to the head and body. The slightly drunk man’s blood did not come from his own wounds, but from his wife, police said.
She stated that her partner beat her for hours. The woman received emergency medical care at the scene and was taken to a hospital by Vienna emergency services.

The 54-year-old was temporarily arrested and reported on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. According to police, the couple was not previously known to authorities.
