A tragic traffic accident took place at the back of the Bregenzerwald on Saturday afternoon. Two cars collided head-on and both drivers were seriously injured.
The accident happened around 12 noon in Bregenzerwaldstrasse (L200) near the municipality of Reuthe. Why the vehicles collided head-on is still under investigation. According to initial information, both drivers suffered serious injuries.
Wreck completely demolished
A driver had to be freed from the completely destroyed wreck by the fire brigade with rescue scissors. After initial treatment by the emergency doctor, the two victims were each flown to hospital by rescue helicopter.
During the rescue and clean-up work, the accident site was closed to all traffic for over an hour.
