Feeling that his honor was being insulted, a man from Mistelbach (Lower Austria) allegedly pointed a gun at two men in front of a snack bar. The 35-year-old was arrested, but beforehand he allegedly threw his gun into a rainwater drain.
As the Lower Austrian police reported on Tuesday, the men in Mistelbach may have gotten into an argument before. After the suspect pointed a gun at his two opponents, he immediately fled. The emergency services were alerted and the 35-year-old was arrested a short time later.
Weapon discovered in storm drain
According to investigators, the unsecured and loaded weapon was discovered in a storm drain. The man was transferred to Korneuburg prison after the incident last Monday.
Firearm picked up at home
The 35-year-old from the Mistelbach district is said to have brought the gun from home because of an argument with other guests. When another argument broke out, he pulled it out, repeated and threatened a 27-year-old and a 29-year-old. A 28-year-old managed to grab the gun from the 35-year-old, but the suspect took it back and fled on foot. The man, who was arrested after a short search, is suspected of making dangerous threats. There was a weapons ban against him.
