In the Völkermarkt district, a 58-year-old tried to chase her dog into the house with fireworks, resulting in an explosion in her hand. An alcohol test was positive.
New Year’s Eve has already been over for a fortnight and some households still have several firecrackers lying around. This is probably the case with a 58-year-old from the Völkermarkt district. On Tuesday afternoon, the drunk woman lit a firecracker in the driveway to chase her dog into the house.
However, the first attempt failed. The woman tried to light the fireworks again. “The pyrotechnic device exploded in the 58-year-old’s hand, causing her an unspecified degree of injury,” officials said.
The drunk woman received first aid from the rescue team and was then flown to the Klagenfurt clinic by the C11 rescue helicopter.
