Violence has taken on new forms due to increasing digitalization: one of these is so-called revenge porn. These are intimate recordings that are published without the consent of the person depicted and with the intention of causing harm.
‘Revenge Porn’ has long been its own category on relevant sites and the title of a phenomenon that has only become an increasing problem over the past twenty years. Internet violence is no longer a fringe phenomenon and can take many forms: data theft, cyberbullying – or even revenge porn, where intimate images or videos are spread online. The victims are often women and would be humiliated by publishing.
