“Can I borrow your car?” Probably not all car owners say yes. A man from Saalbach did. He lent his car to a 17-year-old friend and was promptly punished for his gullibility. Because the car is now a total loss.
On Friday evening, a 17-year-old wanted to go for a ride in Saalfelden with his friends. Since he didn’t have a car of his own, he borrowed a set of wheels from a friend. What he couldn’t borrow: a driver’s license. The teenager didn’t have either.
As if that wasn’t enough, the teen didn’t let that stop him from having a great night. With an alcohol content of 1.56 per mille, the accident finally happened: shortly before midnight, the 17-year-old drove off the road in the borrowed car and crashed into a street lamp and a tree.
The car eventually came to a stop in the garden of a residential building. In addition to property damage to the car and at the scene of the accident, two 17-year-old passengers (16 and 18 years old) were also injured in the accident.
The teenager will now be reported to the Public Prosecution Service and the district administration.
