Where is “Igor”? – Sad Noble Papage misses his brother

“Malou” has experienced so much, “says Alfred Kofler, head of animal care at the Assisi-Hof in Stockerau. “When I first saw her, I was speechless. A parrot that should actually have bright red feathers, almost naked, scared and very weak. But with everything she has happened, I feel her overwhelming will to live! It is on its way of improvement.

The prehistory: In a small dirty cage, the sensitive bird was left to its fate between Müllcontainers at the end of the previous year. “Krone” animal leader Maggie Entenfellner visited the battered “Findelkind” at the Vetmed Uni in Vienna. And thanks to the generous donations of our readers, we were able to cover part of the treatment costs. “Malou” was saved with United Forces and is now in the loving care of the Austrian Animal Welfare Association in the Assisi-Hof in Lower Austria.

Malous away to recovery is still far. She suffers from PBFD (Psittacin Beak and spring disease), an incurable viral infection in parrot birds, and fights with the terrible consequences of her traumatic past.

Brother urgently wanted!
The Parrot woman comes from a breeding in Upper Austria. And: “Malou” has a brother. The noble birds are awarded together – then again and again to new owners until the path runs in the sand. Despite all the research, “Igors” is uncertain. Parrots are very social birds. In nature they enter into partnerships – usually lifelong – and live together in family groups or rave. The bond with partners or brothers and sisters is fundamental. That is why it is especially important to bring them back together.
