More than a third of the Austrians want to visit at least one ball this year. For this goal, an average of 250 euros per head of the population is planned, as a study on behalf of the trade association appears.
Most respondents (29 percent) plans at least one visit to the ball, another five percent of several. 14 percent was still undecided at the time of the survey in mid -January. “Given the particularly long ball season this year – the Carnival Day on March 4 – the number of visitors could still rise sharply,” said the trade association in a broadcast.
The most diligent ball gears can be found in the south of the country: in Styria and Carinthia, about four of the ten respondents (39 percent) stated that they wanted to visit at least one ball. Almost as many were in Tyrol and Vorarlberg. Although there are most balls in Vienna, the biggest Ballmuffs are at home here. Only 29 percent of Viennese will go on a ball this year.
Especially to meet young people
Looking at age groups, scores Ball events, especially in people between the ages of 18 and 28, followed by 29 and 43-year-olds. For more than 60 years, balls visit relatively less.
Faschings or mask balls are the most popular. School, technical university or university balls come in second place. Balls are also visited by organizations such as the Fire Brigade or the police, farmers’ balls, regional or community balls and a bit of demolished musician balls. In Vienna-Floridsdorf, a jogging trouser ball is celebrating its premiere on March 1. The guests are asked to get in jogging pants or leggings.
