A couple in Kindberg in Upper Styria probably ate poisonous panther mushrooms on Friday. The Styria have been seriously poisoned and are now even in mortal danger.
A neighbor alerted emergency services after a couple in Kindberg (Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district) suffered massive mushroom poisoning. The 57-year-old and her 60-year-old husband complained of nausea and the woman soon lost consciousness. When rescuers arrived, her husband also passed out.
The tightness of the stairs made it even more difficult: the couple had to be rescued from the apartment on the first floor by the Kindberg fire brigade with a turntable.
After emergency medical care, the man and woman were taken to different hospitals by rescue helicopter. According to the police, both Styria are in mortal danger.
Portions of the mushrooms consumed were confiscated. According to previous studies, the mushrooms would be poisonous panther mushrooms.
