Retired person survived – attack on the cemetery: Victims can be interviewed

Date:

At the end of January, a retired 73 -year -old pensioner who had visited her husband’s grave was attacked by a stranger with a knife in the Leonhardfriedhof in Graz. She fought for her life for days, now the condition of the woman is stable. She could be interviewed.

Already on January 29, a Wednesday, there was a brutal knife attack on the cemetery opposite the LKH University Hospital Graz: A (still) unknown perpetrator stabbed the 73-year-old woman with a Stanley knife. Other visitors to the cemetery had found the woman and warned the rescue workers. At that time, the pensioner could have declared that she had been attacked by a man. She was taken to the university clinic and took care of Intensive Care.

The police could only ask the victim a few days ago, on request. Unfortunately there are no new indications looking for the perpetrator.

“Handy Survey”
When examining the victim, one had to continue carefully, another could be given in the coming days.

Even the recently scarce information from the population would not have shown traces when checked, such as surveys in the field of the cemetery. The private environment of the pensioner was clarified immediately after the crime, the police spokesperson said. The increased patrol activity at cemeteries in Graz – by civil or uniform officials – has not led to observations or knowledge.

Witnesses urgently wanted
That is why the state’s office of the State continues to ask for instructions. It is also about perceptions on and near the Leonhard Cemetery, also before crime, for example whether a man hit there.

Witnesses can report to the LKA on 059133 60 3333 or the emergency call 133.
