The emergency services had to be deployed on Friday evening in Laßnitzhöhe (Styria): a man (38) had fallen from the attic in the old, dilapidated swimming pool. In the “lost place” there are always missions. In a similar accident in Lower Austria, a 15-year-old recently died.
This assignment is reminiscent of a tragic accident, which only caused horror in Lower Austria on 6 February: a girl (15) had crashed in exploring the former cement factory in Kaltenleut (Mödling District). The “lost place” – these are abandoned, often decayed places – was deposited.
On Friday evening, the emergency services of the Styrian Laßnitzhöhe were informed of the old swimming pool. A 38-year-old man had fallen from the attic of the also blocked, dilapidated building. Apparently he wanted to climb a rusty ladder. He chose the emergency call himself.
“On the scene, two squadrons immediately started looking for the wounded in the building. At the same time, the Red Cross team arrived, which the person could finally find, “says the fire brigade.
Access to the swimming pool that is cut free
The man apparently could not get up, he was injured indefinitely. The emergency services had to remove him from the building with a grinding mandbrancard after cutting the overgrown access to the swimming pool with a chainsaw.
Always Missions
For the fire brigade it was not the first use of this “lost place”. “We are always there, sometimes only the salvation comes because someone has cut or something like that. Fire has already been laid, “says Stefan Gerger of FF Laßnitzhöhe, who warns that it is not the ruin:” This is very dangerous.
