The ATM network has suffered 7.5% discount in the state since the coronavirus outbreak, with the disappearance of a total of 3777 terminals in two years, according to updated data from the Bank of Spain.

At the same time, card payments at point of sale (POS) terminals increased by approximately 28% in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the previous year. There are currently 2.25 million terminals of this type, the maximum registered so far.
In terms of cards in circulation, the number of credit cards increased by 5.42% to 39.41 million in the first quarter, while the number of debit cards decreased by 0.53% to 48.79 million.
