A fatal accident in the Alps occurred on Sunday under the Rotkogel in Sölden in Tirol (Imst district). According to police information, a 53-year-old German mountaineer fell over steep rocky terrain and remained motionless under a small snowfield after about 150 meters.
The mountain drama happened around 8.40 am southeast of the so-called “Brunnenkogelhaus”. The alpinist fell and rolled over several times.
21-year-old still providing first aid
His 21-year-old son, who accompanied him on the tour, immediately provided first aid and started the rescue chain at the same time. The emergency doctor helicopter “Martin 8” took the victim and his son to the heliport in Hochgurgl. But all the other life-saving measures of the emergency room were to no avail.
