Dramatic scenes played out in Eferding (Upper Austria) on Saturday afternoon: while his father was sleeping and a big brother (8) was sitting on the toilet, a two-year-old climbed on the sofa, opened a window and fell eleven meters. He was flown to the Linz Children’s Hospital.
A 34-year-old was on Saturday with his two sons, aged eight and two, in their apartment in the Eferding district. The father took a painkiller and went to the bedroom to rest. In doing so, he fell asleep. His sons stayed in the living room and played on the television.
The two-year-old climbed onto the couch
When the eight-year-old went to the toilet around 4 p.m., the two-year-old must have climbed onto the couch and opened the window. Then he fell about eleven meters from the windowsill into the greenery. A neighbor woke up the father and started the rescue chain. After the emergency medical first aid by the rescue helicopter team, the boy was taken to the children’s clinic in Linz with unknown injuries.
