The accident happened around 10:20 a.m. in the Ottakring district. According to police, the 11-year-old was playing in the apartment and leaning against the screen on the windowsill. It failed and the girl fell.
The Vienna professional rescue service took over the first aid from the 11-year-old. The child was then taken to hospital with a suspected pelvic fracture.
The incident is one in a series of window traps. It wasn’t until Thursday evening that a two-year-old fell from a window in Vienna-Landstrasse. The girl suffered head injuries.
