The All -Day -warning strike on a total of 13 German airports has started completely and even larger than planned. Because in addition to employees of the public service of the airport operators and soil traffic services, employees in the air protection areas of the professional field have also joined.
At individual airports, the actions only started in the early morning at the start of the operation. At the Capital Airport Ber, for example, there were hardly any employees on site at 3.30 pm, except for a few strike posts, said trade union secretary Enrico Rümker in the morning. It is expected that there will be start and landings. Rümker did not expect big chaos on Ber.
Occasionally possible check -in
In recent years there have been no problems in strikes because of the timely announcements. Berlin’s airport had already announced in advance: “All planned rooms and arrivals will be influenced by the strikes and therefore cannot take place.”
Also in Düsseldorf the score signs showed many painted flight connections in the morning, as a DPA reporter reported. However, it did not seem to be a complete standstill in the capital of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Occasionally, air travelers could at least check in and give up their luggage. A few said it had to be taken to the airport in Münster, which was not influenced by the strike, and from there they should make their journey.
“No plane leaves Frankfurt”
Frankfurt will not leave a passenger plane on Monday, a traffic management spokesperson said in the morning. From 1116 starts and landings with around 150,000 passengers in Frankfurt, 1054 were canceled in Frankfurt. According to the spokesperson, there should only be a few arrivals from aircraft – partly with passengers, partly empty. In total, the ADV Airport Association expects around 3400 cancellations of the flight, more than 500,000 passengers will not be able to start their air travel. Austria is also being hit en masse. As the airport of Vienna-Schwechat announced on Sunday on Sunday 45 flights between Vienna and German airports will be canceled on Monday. Countless flights between German airports and Graz, Salzburg, Linz, Innsbruck and Klagenfurt are also hit.
The warning strikes in the public service, which had been announced since Friday, would also become a member of employees in the air security areas, as the Verdi Union announced during the weekend. These work in passenger control, personnel, goods and freight control and in service areas. For them, a new collective agreement is currently being negotiated with employers at the Federal Association of Air Safety Companies (BDLS). The next negotiation round is planned for 26 and 27 March.
These are the requirements of the employees
The next round of negotiation for this Friday (March 14) in Potsdam is planned for public service. In the meantime, the warning strikes must continue this week in other federal and municipal institutions and municipalities. The trade union calls up to eight percent more wages in the tariff negotiations of the federal government and the municipalities, but at least 350 euros more, as well as three extra days off. Until now, employers have not submitted a specific offer. This is concerned about “a lot of resentment” and many discussions with the employees, said DPA trade union secretary Rümker. “The expectation is that the collective negotiations will now be underway during the weekend.”
In air safety, Verdi calls for improving the health protection of the profession and health, 30 days of vacation and extra holiday for shifts and the free choice of the doctor in the regular compulsory medical investigations of the employees.
