The ski holiday of a Czech family in Styria ended in a tragedy on Monday: a 53-year-old fell so unhappy at the Galsterberg at the outdoor location that he died on the scene of the accident despite immediate first aid measures.
On Monday during lunch, a 53-year-old skier from the Czech Republic and his wife and son traveled on a slopes on the Galsterberg (district of Liezen). The man left the slopes and drove into the open terrain.
After a few meters, according to the police, he went into a snow hill, lost control, loosened from skis and was overturned. After the fall, the man remained immobile.
Two tourers were witnesses to the accident, immediately helped first aid and had an emergency call. Despite the intensive efforts of the emergency doctor of a rescue helicopter, the 53-year-old died on the scene of the accident.
