Too little free time-young people dissatisfied with “school-life balance”

Date:

Many high school students are dissatisfied with their “school life balance”-on average they only assign five out of ten points. Too little free time, pressure to perform, incomprehensible assessment and health symptoms cause a lot of pressure.

Three quarters already felt unfairly treated, especially by teachers. Above all, understandable explanations, fewer exams, more practical relevance and a later school are desirable.

  • On average, high school students spend so much time at school as adults at work. However, according to a survey, many of the young people are dissatisfied with their “school life balance”. On average, the respondents evaluated the compatibility of school and private life with only five of ten points. 27 percent stated that they had a very bad “school lives balance”.
  • The share of interviewees with few friends (31 percent) and young people with poor school performance (48) was again higher. A fifth reported a very good “school life balance”. In school figures, young people would give their school life three, their lives in general.

Half felt too little free time
Half of the young people surveyed mentioned too little free time in the survey. Four out of ten complained about nonsensical work orders of the school, and they even first mentioned boys in the first place in those things that make life less beautiful.

  • In the case of school burden, 66 percent occurs in the first place, followed by unannounced repetitions, too little time to learn and bad grades. Too many learning materials, tests and learning stress, poor mediation of learning materials and pressure to perform at school also contains more than half of the respondents.
  • According to the survey at school, three -quarters already felt unfairly treated, especially from teaching staff. Only 15 percent relies on such incidents according to the online survey of the Tutoring Institute Leer Quadrat among 900 high school students.

Headache, insomnia
The school has already burdened more than half of the respondents in such a way that they responded with headaches or insomnia. According to the survey, only 16 percent never had health problems due to stress at school. A good half of the adolescents also reports that they are tired because of the school tax, remember less or are difficult to concentrate. Four out of ten state that they have already responded with Black -Outs during exams.

  • To improve school life, from the perspective of the vast majority of the investigated, it would need better explanations, fewer exams, more exercise and more current topics in the classroom.
  • More than half of the respondents would also be for a later lesson, fewer school hours and more feedback about their own performance. Only 44 percent would be a third of the respondents for smaller classes to abolish the figures.
