Now Salzburg’s Archbishop Franz Lackner intervened in the discussion, even reported on the death of the Pope – because of his account on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter).
Some will be confused here because: Franz Lackner has no account on X. It is rather a fake page of the Italian Tommasso Debedetti. This was noticeable with similar actions in the past. He created such fake profiles from politicians, bishops and writers time and time again and thus spread false reports about the death of celebrities.
On his official Facebook profile, Archbishop Lackner called the campaign “wrong and tasteless”. And: “The only rightful source of information about the health of the Holy Father, who is currently improving, offers the press office of the Holy chair.”
