Commuters used space – from April only 4 hours of free parking in SCS

Date:

This has long been discussed, now it has been resolved: because the 10,000 parking spaces in the Westfeld Shopping Center will be collected in the future. Because commuters have often parked their cars here. Only four hours will be free from April 14. The costs of 2.50 euros per hour are then incurred.

A long shop day in the Westfield Shopping Center (formerly SCS) in Vösendorf can make much more expensive from 14 April. Because from that moment on the 10,000 parking spaces, which have always been free so far, cost a little. The first four hours are still free, but then 2.50 euros per hour must be paid.

An ordinary customer already complains: “We often spend all day in the SCS, have comfortable lunch, later on a coffee – there will soon be eight to ten hours together.” In the parking garage, where the first two hours are still free, a fee is paid from the first minute.

There are exceptions when you see the cinema: if you present the cinema ticket, you can park for six hours for free.

Visitors stay on average two hours
“There have been discussions about a parking fee for a long time,” confirms the management of the center. The reason: commuters are increasingly using the area as a permanent parking space to go to Vienna or to walk to the surrounding companies with the Badner Bahn. Why is four hours free? “We know from experience that most visitors stay on average two hours in the mall,” explains management.

Uncomplicated handling without barriers and without tickets
The treatment of this should be very simple. The license plate is scanned with the help of a camera. “I stay shorter than four hours, I just drive outside. I stay longer, I pay at one of the terminals that are with every outcome,” said center management. The only effort: you must remember the license plate.

If the new parking costs are not observed, penalties of 80 euros will be made. But: “In any case, there will be a longer transition period in which it will not be punished if you exceed parking time,” says Center Management.
