Overnight in Vienna-Margareten. A stranger attacked a young woman there. A push, a slap in the face. Then the robber piled up with the 27-year-old’s cell phone. Now the police are looking for a suspect using mugshots.
The robbery took place on Thursday at 1.55 am on the Rechte Wienzeile. The woman was on the phone when she was suddenly hit hard from behind. Shortly after, the attacker also punched her in the face with the palm of his hand, the director reported. The 27-year-old fell to the ground and dropped her cell phone.
Victim recognized suspect
The stranger grabbed the mobile phone and fled in the direction of the Kettenbrückengasse metro station. “Photos of the male suspect could be evaluated,” the police said on Tuesday, after which the suspect was identified by the victim.

The suspect is around 20 years old, slim and around 1.65 meters tall. He has black hair and was wearing a gray vest and black sweatpants at the time of the crime. Incidentally, the stolen mobile phone was found during the report and near the crime scene.
