The outbreak of animal diseases was already confirmed near the border. Four municipalities are now a supervisory zone.
Both in Slovakia and in Hungary, and only a few kilometers from the border of Burgenland, the mouth and mouth disease have already taken place.
The owners of pets in Burgenland were informed and have taken precautions. Because: if there is a case in a company, all animals – even if they are healthy – must be cried.
This is not just a drama economically. Accordingly, the precautions by farmers in the Neusiedl am See District are high. Wolfgang Hautzinger – he has been a Schafbauer in Tades for decades – has canceled all the tours in his company. “I only go inside my stable,” he explains. And not just like that: an epidemic was constructed. Simply explained that this is a carpet that is soaked with disinfectants.
The Ministry of Health has declared the municipalities of the German Jahrndorf, Mönchhof, Nickelsdorf and Halbturn a security zone. The observation zone includes the districts of Neusiedl, Eisenstadt, Eisenstadt-Umgebung, Mattersburg and Oberpullendorf.
Data and facts
The disease can be transferred by direct contact with infected animals, their products and excretion or infected lifeless objects. Transfer over the air is possible over large distances (up to 60 kilometers by country). The incubation period is two to 14 days.
Symptoms for all affected animal species are bladder formation in the mouth, on the udder and on the claws. Moreover, the animals have fever (40-42 degrees Celsius), pain and are apathetic.
Measures of federal and national governments
The border crossings to Slovakia and Hungary on the high -ranking road network are already constantly checked. In the case of smaller transitions, the selective checks are intensified. A focus is on animal transport. Other (border) police stripes are available for this that can be used flexibly.
