Terrible incident in the cozy Toget of a German clique in the Tyrolean Lowlands: when filling a table scored with ethanol there was a violent explosion. Two men (25 and 30 years old) were injured. The older of the two affected people even floated in mortal danger!
The terrible incident had already occurred in Bad Häring (Kufstein District) during the weekend. A group of German friends had met in the winter garden of the parental residence of a 25-year-old to spend the evening together. The clique was around a table – and an ethanol fireplace or table fire was in the middle of the table.
Bottle exploded, the 30-year-old flowed over
“When the flame threatened shortly after 8 p.m., the 25-year-old wanted to top up the fireplace with ethanol and the liquid from the plastic bottle in the flame gutters,” the police said. And then it happened!
Suddenly the bottle exploded in the man’s hands and this suffered light burns on the fingers. But the 30-year-olds won worse. “This was overloaded with the burning liquid and he suffered burns on the face and the upper body,” the researchers continued.
Injuries more serious than expected
The 30-year-old was initially taken to the hospital in Kufstein after the first aid by the alarmed salvation. “The injuries there appeared to be heavy and even lifelong, so that the man had to be moved to a hospital in Munich,” the police said.
