The German game “Die Linke” probably wants to fill a long dream for many children: the in -house exercises must be abolished.
However, the background for this idea is no longer free time for the descendants. The accusation is much more in the space that there is also social inequality in homework. They are “a class question”, the left boss Jan van Aken criticizes, according to a report from the “Stern” on Thursday. Children of academics would have better opportunities, therefore learning “to school, not in the living room”.
“Homework deepens the social division,” says the five-point plan of the co-federal chairman and the left-wing training expert Nicole Gohlke. You write: “Everyone who has parents who can help get ahead. If you don’t – stay behind.” This means “structural inequality” and is due to “no individual weakness”.
Educational scissors at school starts in Germany particularly large
Van Aken and Gohlke also ask for the full exemption from all school costs – including books, school lunches, tablets and tickets. There must also be a joint school up to “at least 10th grade”, a special fund of 100 billion euros for the renovation and equipment of schools, as well as more staff for educational institutions.
The requirements of the links come in response to a new study by the German Institute for Economic Research. According to this first classes from families with a low income and less parental education with greater educational disadvantages, their school career starts than in many other countries.
