In Germany there were different attacks with different deaths before the last federal elections. Research by ZDF now brings targeted control from abroad via the internet. The digital traces lead to Russia.
The ZDF reported in a “Terra X History” piece on Sunday of suspicious internet research from Russia in the run -up to attacks last year, which people encountered as part of an evaluation of data from Google Trends.
Before Mannheim-View striking searches from Russia
Apparently there were searches from Russia four days before the attack after a “terrorist attack in Mannheim”. In May 2024, Sulaiman A, born in Afghanistan, stabbed several people with a knife, including a police officer who died a few days later. The attacker himself was shot by an official.
There were also deviations with regard to other, partly Islamist motivated attacks for the European elections and the state elections in East Germany, but also before the election of the Bundestag in February. The attacks are jointly responsible for the high election results of the AfD.
“The compression for the elections is clear”
“I think it is perfectly clear that these digital traces and the evaluation and analysis of these digital traces can be an important building block to get closer to the truth, and in this respect you have to record this,” said the green politician Konstantin von Notz. “The compression for the elections is clear.”
A spokesperson for the German Ministry of the Interior emphasized that after the ZDF program “Checks” took place, the instructions would “be taken very seriously”.
BND has doubts about the meaning of the Google Trends Research
Security authorities, however, doubt the informative value of the ZDF examination: the results of the trend analysis have not increased the number of searches that have actually been made in a chosen region and at the time of the time, but rather for samples and calculated. “The exact terms have not necessarily investigated, but also word strains or even individual words from the question,” said the spokesperson for the BND.
