Terrible avalanche accident on Saturday evening at the Zugspitze in the Tyroolean Ehrwald: a 23-year-old German was omitted hundreds of meters from snow mass at the descent and was seriously injured. The young alpinist had to be restored with the emergency helicopter and flown to the hospital.
The 23-year-old German and a younger countryman (18) had climbed the Zugspitze over the so-called “Stop-Truller” via Ferrata and reached the top around 2 p.m. When descending via the same route it happened.

“Shortly before 6 p.m. a wet snow avalanche was suddenly loosened at around 2700 meters above sea level, presumably as a result of the day -daily warming,” says the Alpine Police. The 23-year-old was captured by the snow mass and was about 500 meters above rocky terrain.
With an emergency helicopter in the clinic
“The man remained seriously injured on the surface. The companion immediately started the rescue chain and rose to the 23-year-old,” the researchers continued. The seriously injured was eventually found by the crew of the alarmed emergency helicopter “Martin 2” and then flown to the Bavarian clinic in Murnau.
The 18-year-old companion got away with the horror and remained unharmed. He was brought into the valley with the police helicopter “Libelle Tirol”.
