A second life has been given to a rabbit in Germany. Found helplessly on a field and partially paralyzed, the animal was initiated into safe death. But thanks to an animal shed Finder and Zookeepers, “Hot Wheels”, according to the right name, can roll through life almost independently.
“We had first investigated it in a veterinarian. The first assumption of Finder was that he might have been approached. But it soon became apparent that he has the EC disease. This is a single-cell authority that attacks the central nervous system. Symptoms are headscarves or simply paralysis of the rear legs-württtemberg.
But “hot wheels” will be great – and to make life more livable again, the nurses made themselves the chance to move around the rabbit. And so you quickly worked a birdhouse on a special rolloator.
For this purpose, the wooden walls were removed and rollable rolls were screwed to the remaining construct. “Hot Wheels” is on a small pillow. The animal supports itself with the upper body, the hind legs are on the floor – so that it moves forward.
More quality of life and at the same time physiotherapy
“And he immediately accepted that. It was temporarily easy to support the fact that he has the quality of life and also automatically does physiotherapy.” And that works better every day, says Wagner.
“He can stand up independently. He sometimes jumps on himself. He goes to his water, to drink, is luckily in the morning, when we come, it’s ready and wait until we bring it to the sun. He eats all the time. Yes, so there is a good chance that he will certainly do it.” Moreover, the brave animal receives medication.
“Hot Wheels” is looking for a house forever
Now the shelter is looking for a new house or a good place of care. It is very nice to see how it gets better every day and the rabbit fights back in life, says Wagner. “But of course it is even better if he finds a house because we don’t replace a house.”
