A 57-year-old Croatian citizen visited his 51-year-old partner at her workplace in downtown Vienna on Saturday evening and subsequently injured her face and upper body with punches and kicks.
The suspect also allegedly threatened to kill his partner with a knife. The man was temporarily arrested on suspicion of serious bodily harm and dangerous threats.
An entry and approach ban and a temporary weapons ban were issued against the Croat. The 57-year-old is currently still in pre-trial detention.
The victim received emergency medical care from the Vienna Professional Rescue Service and was then taken to a hospital.
Woman attacks boyfriend with vase
According to the police, another case of violence in the private sphere also occurred in Vienna-Favoriten on Saturday evening. There, a 32-year-old attacked her boyfriend in his apartment with a vase, hitting him on the head with it and threatening to kill him.
