After the flood disaster in the previous year, a well -known local supplier in Judenau near Tulln is now blocking again: thanks to donations, coherence and a lot of personal contribution, the salvation was achieved before the holiday!
What a new start! Just in time for Easter – the Festival of Hope and Resurrection – the popular farm shop of the Pfiel family in Judenau, Tulln District. In the fall, the traditional company was still before the last flood after the devastating flood.
But now Fragner’s Ham, shaken and national delicacies returned to the showcases – to the great joy of the entire area. “This Easter is very special for us this year,” says senior boss Erich Pfiel with tears. “We have lost everything – and thanks to the help of so many people, everything regained everything.”
Fair Shop, Meat Processing, Heurigenlokal – everything was destroyed!
About the history: in September 2024 the flood had destroyed the entire company and deeply paralyzed: farm shop, meat processing, Heurigenlokal – all destroyed, the damage enormously. But the family did not give up. The fundraising campaign of the “Kroon”, voluntary helpers, the tireless use of the community and the country and a lot of endurance finally made the impossible possible.
“Without this wave of support we would never have opened again,” said Sabine Pfiel. “Especially now at Easter, where many people missed our delicacies at home, we really wanted to be there for people again.”
Customers remain loyal to their local supplier
The joy in the village is huge – many regular customers were even in line with the current reopening to hit the end of the Lent with the best meat products. However, this year it must remain closed that a reopening can be observed next year at the earliest.
After all, there is still a lot of work to wait for the family of the farmer in Tullnerfeld. And even if the way back was difficult, one thing is clear for the Pfiels: “We are back. And this Easter is the most beautiful gift ever.”
