There was a curious incident in the exhibition city Wels (Upper Austria) on Sunday evening – the top was down. The strong wind apparently had ensured that a part broke. Not the first incident this year in terms of Mayypole.
So there was no theft attempt to blame the misery: the tip of the Mayypole on Welser Stadtplatz had not passed the gusts of wind on Sunday evening. The tip clearly broke off. It dangled in the field of wreaths high above the Wels Town Square. In the morning the fire brigade had to move with the air ladder and remove the abandoned part. The tree, which comes from Sattledt, was only founded on Saturday of last week.

The “special operation” of FF Pichling, of which the members are masked by the Mypole of the RK Linz-Süd, was also strange. Earlier, the National Youth Ansfelden had stolen their own tree trunk.
It wasn’t to laugh, but rather to cry what vandals did in St. Georgen on the Gusen. They saw the Mayypole on the playground of the local children. A wooden waterway was also damaged. Such “wooden heads” even ruin the nicest tradition.
